Admissions – Joining our school

In October, there are opportunities to visit our school for those interested in joining Pre-school or Reception in the next academic year.

Our Pre-school is a governor led provision which takes children from 3 years old. Contact the school office for more information and application forms.

Admissions for the rest of the school are handled through the local authority. Please contact the school office for space availability in classes other than Reception.

Children joining us are invited to attend a series of afternoon visits to our Pre-school and Reception classes where they are given the opportunity to explore their new learning environment and participate in a range of different activities. An Induction Evening for new parents is also held when relevant literature is distributed and discussed. Parents may use this meeting to raise any questions or queries.

Following Stay and Play sessions, the children are invited to attend a series of afternoon visits to the Reception Unit when they are given the opportunity to explore their new learning environment and participate in a range of different activities. An Induction Evening for new parents is also held when relevant literature is distributed and discussed. Parents may use this meeting to raise any questions or queries.

During the first week of the Autumn term, parents/carers are invited to individual meetings. During these meetings, they will have the opportunity to meet their children’s teachers and discuss any needs or concerns that teachers need to be made aware of.

Admissions - Staff Support

Stay and Play sessions are offered to parents of children due to start school in the forthcoming academic year. Younger siblings are also welcomed to help ease transition. Positive school/parent partnerships are clearly established.

During the first half of the autumn term, parents/carers are invited to attend an informal parents meeting, during which they are given the opportunity to discuss how their child has settled into their new learning environment.
